An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
